We were given carte blanche by Items Magazine to make a contribution to their April 2012 issue on ‘Beauty’. We were asked to make a pattern as a reflection to the patterns in old books, patterns of pure ornamentation as function.

We designed the wedding invitation of our dearest dance queen Luna Maurer. Luna and the cute hubby Res will held a marriage party in a fairy-tale castle in France, during a beatific spring weekend. We’re delighted de luxe to contribute to their happiness with a jolly swing twist invite.

The memes are like gateways to Russian sub-culture and cultural history. The domestic amateur-photography reveal the life and vices of the subjects: stuffed squalid interiors, satanic rituals, frontal flash, acne, teenage angst, guns, booze, track suits, baseball bats, gangsigns and sex are recurring motifs.
The carpets were originally bought for insulation and to make up for the paper thin walls, through which you could hear everything going on next-door, and have been inherited through several generations. In the pictures you typically see carpets hanging in rooms furnished with Ikea furniture and plasma TVs bought on credit.
In the more wealthy families carpets cover all four walls, floor, couches and chairs, making the apartment look like the dwelling of Mongolian nomads. But there is also a significant percentage of office workers, living in cheap rental housing, who have carpets on their walls.

The Trending Topic is an online magazine about Post Internet behavior. You can’t think away The Internet anymore. You cannot create something contemporary without taking its effects into account. The Internet is no longer just a promise, it’s a fact. The first issue, #OPTIMZE., is made by the 2nd year graphic design students of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie as an assignment posed by Jonathan Puckey and Pinar Demirdag.

One half of the Pinar&Viola is now teaching at Rietveld Academy, together with Jonathan Puckey.
The assignment consists of making the first issue of the online magazine #TrendingTopic together surrounding the theme OPTIMIZE. #TrendingTopic is an online magazine about Post Internet behavior. You can’t think away The Internet anymore. You cannot create something contemporary without taking its effects into account. The Internet is no longer just a promise, it’s a fact. According to the quote above, you might not even want to use the word technology anymore to describe it. #TrendingTopic uses The Internet, technology and everything else which relates to au courant as its paintbrush.
Shout out for all the students, they did a great job for the first week. Here are some of the first research examples that they came up with.

We designed WWW.THEIMPORTANCEOFBEINGSEXY.COM for Dutch documentary maker Sunny Bergman. The steamy website is an online platform for women to share their sexual experiences. The Importance of Being Sexy questions the effect of porn in the female sensuality in the 21st century. Sunny Bergman states that, in our highly sexualized culture, the absence of real-life stories about sex is characterizing our times.
In the first glance the website looks like a XXX Volume adult site, though when clicking on the erotic banners, the visitor ends up with a collection of intimate and true stories about sexuality. These personal stories are told by webcam girls talking openly and freely about their sexual experiences.
The website contains an erotic art gallery, an erotic test, and offers the visitor the possibility to make sexual confessions.
